Fiona Taylor, the composer, has written the music and lyrics for the songs which are at the core of this project. She currently composes music for film and TV, including BBC’s Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow and Our Changing Planet.
She worked as a professional flute player in the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as performing in many West End musicals (including Oliver!, The King and I, The Beautiful Game, Into the Woods, and Beauty and the Beast).
Before that, she was winner of the Woodwind Final of BBC Young Musician of the year (1986), gained a Music degree from Cambridge University, and trained as an orchestral musician at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
She also spent ten years as a professional Music Therapist in Gloucestershire.
Fiona loves meccano (or anything with moving cogs in it), birdsong, gardening and French fancies. She has built a symphony (like a hurdy gurdy), two model railways and a paper clock. She’s married with three sons. For her blog posts on composing, visit here.
